Merit Prep Newark combines great classroom teaching with online learning to provide our students with a personalized education that prepares them to achieve at the highest levels in the worlds of college, work and life.

Our goal is to prepare 100% of our students to be accepted to a 4-year college.

Opened August 2012 – We are now enrolling students for this school year and the 2013-14 school year!

Merit Prep Newark is a free, open-enrollment charter school.

Location

• 909 Broad Street, Newark, NJ 07102 (directly across from City Hall) 

Enrollment

• Grade 6 for 2012-13 and Grades 6 and 7 for 2013-14
• 80 students per grade
• Adding one grade per year to grow to over 600 students in grades 6-12

• First Day of School: August 27, 2012
• Last Day of School: June 26, 2013

School Hours

• Monday – Thursday:  8am – 5pm
• Friday:  8am – 2:15pm
• Saturday School (10 during year, 8am - Noon)
